    7th September

    The Alverton’s Ruby Anniversary Weekend

2024 marks 40 years since we first opened The Alverton’s old oak doors to welcome in guests from near and far for a relaxing stay at our oasis on the hill.

On Saturday 7th September, the crown jewel of our hotel – The Great Hall – will be dressed to impress for our dazzling Ruby Ball. Dust off your red ensembles – from scarlet and vermilion, to crimson and cherry – as we want to see everyone dressed in their favourite shade of red.

A decadent affair from the get-go, arrive in style with our special “Ruby’s Pearl” anniversary cocktail served next to an irresistible strawberry and chocolate fountain. The food for the evening doesn’t stop there, as our Executive Chef Nick Hodges will be serving an exclusively curated four-course menu. Finish the evening with drinks and dancing, with live music from local favourites Falmouth Soul Sensation.

Tickets are £75 per person and include your entry to The Great Hall, arrival cocktail, strawberries and chocolate fountain, four-course dinner, and live music from our band until late.

Throughout the evening, expect the unexpected – with entrancing performances from our magician, visits from feathery owl friends, enchanted cocktails, and music until late from our resident DJ.

Tickets are £75 per person, including a themed cocktail, dinner, owl meet and greet, and entertainment all evening. Plus, don’t forget your best wizard/witch costumes or dazzling ball gowns.

    8th November

    RMS Titanic Murder Mystery Evening

On 8th November, embark on an evening of suspense, suspicion, and murder, aboard the RMS Titanic, at our murder mystery night in Cornwall.

The year is 1912, and RMS Titanic is on her maiden voyage across The Atlantic. Your ticket on this magnificent liner welcomes you to the upper first-class deck, where the rich and famous passengers revel in the opulence and excess of the plush interiors, exquisite food, and sparkling silverware.

On the surface, the evening seems to be flowing smoothly, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg, as curiosity and allegations begin to surface between some of the fellow first-class passengers, and a well-known aristocrat. Dinner is about to be served, but as tensions rise, the events of the evening take a deadly turn, as someone is murdered in cold blood.

Tickets aboard RMS Titanic are £60. This includes an arrival drink, a three course dinner, and an immersive evening of entertainment performed by Murder By Appointment – the longest established murder mystery company in the south west.

Fancy dress is encouraged. Think black tie, dinner jackets, glitzy gowns, white gloves, and costume jewellery.

    27th December

    Near-ta Theatre’s ‘Christmas.Time’

    Christmas festivities at The Alverton

Looking for things to do in the interlude between Christmas Day and New Year? We’ve got a yuletide treat this year at The Alverton. On 27th December 2024, we’d like to invite you to a marvellously magical performance by Near-ta Theatre, as they put on a show with their festive comedy, “Christmas. Time.” Pull up a pew, sip on homemade mulled wine and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon or evening for the whole family.

We will be hosting two performances – one at 3pm and one at 6pm.

Tickets cost £20 per person, and the shows start at either 3pm or 6pm on 27th of December in The Great Hall.

New Year’s Eve Ball 2024 in The Great Hall

Our magnificent Great Hall always looks its best when dressed in twinkling lights and Christmas trees. A setting worthy of a special occasion, be greeted with arrival drinks on their own show-stopping tower and an array of homemade canapes, before taking your seats to a four course menu. Each dish is inspired by the greatest culinary hits of 2024, invented by our talented Head Chef Ollie and Executive Chef Nick. There will also be a cheese station to graze on throughout the evening.

Once the plates have been cleared, the dance floor is open for business. Party the night away with our house DJ taking care of the anthems and strike a pose to our magic mirror, whilst our bar-tenders keep the drinks flowing into the early hours. We guarantee you’ll experience a truly unforgettable New Year’s Eve in Cornwall.
