The Gurnard's Head

The Gurnard's Head restaurant lies in the middle of moorland near the South West Coast Path and within sight of the foaming Atlantic. Essential to the operation is a top-notch team in the kitchen, where there is an unusual attention to detail and to the quality of ingredients.

With the emphasis on relaxed informality, lunch and supper can be taken in either the bar or the restaurant or, during much of the summer, in the garden. Like its sister establishment, The Old Coastguard in nearby Mousehole, The Gurnard's Head has a superb wine list with the team’s generous pricing encouraging guests to drink better wines.

Lunch can be as fleeting or as laboured a visit as you like. The menus suit all from the walker seeking refuelling to the serious luncher looking to settle in for a benevolently priced fixed price menu with a carafe of wine or two.

The Gurnard's Head supper menu is short, seasonal and delicious.

All food is cooked to order and the menu will change a little every day depending on what the suppliers bring them.

We welcome children all year round and at both lunch and supper, in both the bar and the dining room. Children will one day be our paying guests and we think they tend to respond well to being treated as adults.
