The Old Coastguard

The Old Coastguard restaurant and terrace sits above the garden which runs down to the rocks and Mount’s Bay.

It really is one of Cornwall’s very best views.

The day boats and trawlers of Newlyn tie up just two miles west of here. So you'd rightly expect their menu to have plenty of fish and seafood. The kitchen is run by Jamie Porter, who never underestimates the quality of Cornish beef and poultry, game from local estates and cheeses from some of Britain's best dairies.

The Old Coastguard restaurant has built the reputation of all of their kitchens on the maxim that the best things in life are kept simple. And it's truer than anywhere here in Mousehole.

This is a traditional Brasserie menu that takes good ingredients and gives them a very simple but classic treatment. There is a Prix Fixe menu for lunch and supper £19.50 for two courses and £24.50 for three courses (Monday to Saturday). Sunday lunch is 2 courses £19.75 and 3 courses £24.50.

The Old Coastguard is listed in The Good Food Guide, the red Michelin Guide, Hardens and have a 2018/19 Gold Award from Taste of the West.
